The program serves kannada speaking community members resident in San Joaquin County, California, and has garnered widespread acceptance and support from the community, parents, and students alike. As of 2025 the program offers language classes for grades 1 to 6 and 4 high school grades via meticulously designed curriculum and custom textbooks.
The plan is to induct and train students of non Indian origin in the coming years.
The Namma Kannada Kalike Kaaryakrama curriculum is tailored to meet the specific needs of students studying Kannada, with textbooks and workbooks authored and edited by a team of educators and industry experts. This collaborative effort ensures the program aligns with educational standards and cultural relevance.
Due to growing community interest, there was a clear need to extend the Kannada language curriculum into high school education. As a result, a high school credits program was implemented in 2025.
Since its inception in 2020 with just 13 students and 3 teachers, the program has seen remarkable growth. By the academic year of 2024-25, the number of students surged to over 90, supported by a dedicated team of 15 teachers. The first batch of elementary grade students graduated from Sixth grade in 2025.
